The Democrats are ending 2017 in a much better position than anybody could’ve imagined a year or even six months ago. There were so many bitter feelings between the Bernie Bros and the Clinton political hacks on January 20th as Donald Trump was sworn into office that it seemed like all hope was lost. It didn’t help that Democrats lost 4 congressional special elections in 2017. They ran weak candidates with poor messaging in already tough districts. Tom Perez and Keith Ellison’s buddy cop duo was a cringe-worthy photo opp in party disunity. You couldn’t swing a dead cat without landing on a Bernie Bro crying foul. The Democratic Party seemed DOA in 2017 and possibly beyond.
Read PostThe day has finally come for Mueller and his team to come knocking at Michael Flynn’s door.
Robert Mueller has charged former Trump national security advisor Michael Flynn with “willfully and knowingly” making “false, fictitious and fraudulent statements” to the FBI regarding conversations with Russia’s ambassador Sergey Kislyak.
Read PostDesperate times call for drastic measures along with grading on a generous curve when it comes to the U.S. Senate and the Republican Party as a whole. I’d like to award U.S. Senators Jeff Flake (R-AZ) and Bob Corker (R-TN) the first annual Profiles In Spotty Courage Award. While they haven’t done a whole lot to defeat Trumpism before and after the election, these two Senators are starting to break away from the Republican party’s rocky marriage to Donald Trump. It’s pretty obvious a lot of them have a discomfort with Trump at the wheel, but they’re too power hungry to speak out. Corker and Flake broke the mold.
Read PostTim Murphy, a Pennsylvania Republican who on Thursday announced he would resign from his House seat this month after The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette published texts revealing that when Mr. Murphy’s mistress thought she was pregnant, he urged her to consider an abortion. Two days before, Mr. Murphy had voted for a bill that would ban abortion after 20 weeks on the medically dubious grounds that, at that age, a fetus can experience pain. The congressman, elected in 2002, has been praised by the Family Research Council for his stance on abortion and has been endorsed by LifePAC, which opposes abortion rights. He is also a member of the House Pro-Life Caucus, an affiliation often cited by his office.
Read PostNo, I’m not talking about happy hour. I know that we could always use another drink in the Trump era but today is #FireFriday. I’m just waiting for what’s become our regular scheduled Trump Administration firing session, or at the very least we’ll get a juicy article out of the New York Times or Washington Post, and if we’re lucky, we might get a double whammy out of these two news giants. Will #Rexit take place or another domino from the Trump-Russia investigation fall? I’m leaning on a Tillerson resignation after #Morongate which has left President Trump infuriated.

Read PostWe have all been on a coaster ride with John McCain for the past 17 years. I was a fan of his in 2000 and supported him. I was disappointed and disheartened when Karl Rove’s dirty tricks sunk him in South Carolina, and we got stuck with the moronic George W. Bush instead. The next eight years were an epic disaster for the nation and the whole world. Bush and Cheney set our country back forever, but I was always relieved to see McCain’s face on TV whenever he came on to speak his mind. He was the voice of the reason of a party gone mad.
Read PostIt’s a wrap another busy week in the Trump era. Here’s my take on everything you might’ve missed. You know things are bad when your attorney hires an attorney, as well as your Vice President. Oh, yeah. I forgot to mention that Jared Kushner lawyered up too. It’s so easy to lose count. The legal…
